hi all
had review with consultant on friday
bloods are fairly but one of hte markers dropped below prefrable levels twice so i have been taken off SLZ--mood changes/fatigue was worse in the mean time she said i have 'elements' of fibtromyagia and ostearthritis
aslo sending me for echo of my heart to eliminate probs as very breathless walking up any incline--this has been going on for months--my gp did chest xray and breathing test spirometry-all ok so i'll have to wait for echo appointment
i still think the breathlesness is due to meds not being sorted!!! anyone else like this
will probably have to go onto MTX in october but we will see
review again in october
take care all of you

Hi Caz,
Sorry to hear you still haven't got your meds sorted. Are you taking anything else other than the slz? Hope the breathlessness clears up soon and good luck for the echo.
Love Doreen xx

Just wishing you all the best, Caz. Feeling breathless must be very worrying. You have had so much to contend with.

Hi Caz, Hope the appointment goes well, I suffer from asthma which causes me to be breathless at times also the pollen can trigger it. U may be similar and it may not be anything to do with the tablets. It can also be hormonal, try not to worry it will probably turn out fine. I don't use inhalers in the summer I don't need them but this week I have been very wheezy so I'm back on them. It has to be the pollen count so may be wise to check it out. Take care Lorna x

hi all
thankyou all for your response mediaction wise i'm on co-codamol 30/500 upto 8 a day but currently taking 4---naproxen 500x2--hydroxychloroquinine 200 x2--
i also use anti histamine--cetirizine once a day--every day i suffer from rhinitis omperazole to protect tummy from naproxen betahistine for menieres disease--which altho mild at the moment dizzyness/lightheaded is contant and i cann't seem to get off them even for a short period
hi lorna i never gave asthma a thought -my sister suffered with childhood asthma --altho should that have been picked up in the spirometry test?
i haven't noticed that the weather has an effect on me with the breathlessness
i did have to see a different doc on monday for pers reasons and we talked a bit about the RA etc--nver seen her before but she wasn't supprised i'm struggling with fatigue.breathlessness and work she even offered to sign me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'll see how i go this week and maybe i'll take her up on the offer--maybe a good break will help short term--just a break in general would help i think--i'm tired but not sleeping --then getting up for work--making my self more tired--viscious circle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'kkep you updated
many thanks for your good wishes

Yikes, we could be disease/drug twins if it weren't for the sulfasalazine! I'm on MTX otherwise the exact same drugs as I have Meniere's too. I was quite breathless and had palpitations (suffered them all my life) but lately they've been vicious. My Hb dropped quite low so they put me on strong iron tablets and I'm much better now. Maybe iron could help you too? I also suffered with allergic asthma years ago when my hay fever was very bad. The feeling was more not being able to get breath out than not being able to get breath in if that's ay help? Like my lungs were already too full. Hope you feel better soon. It's rotten coping with RA and Meniere's

hi mairead
always said i had a twin somewhere--
i've been taken off the SLZ two faulty bloods and i wasn't able to incresae to full dose the consultant said not worth the risk.
looking like i'll start MTX at next rev in october--get rid of the SLZ first--they were doing somrthing tho i'm much more stiff and taking longer to get going in the morning
my bloods are really good i think that is half the problem they are so good no one seems to be taking me seriously
i saw my GP today and he was gobsmacked to say the least that the consultant want s me to have an echo done i have also had palpitations-- the breathlessness is really frustrating sounds oh so familiar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyway ecg next week as he can't refer for echo without one aparently and also having my hearing checked as struggling at work with back ground noise any not hearing surname correctly when patients are booking in--can be very embarressing!!!!!
with your meniers do you suffer with tinnitus--mine seems so much worse lately stopping me from getting off to sleep.
i will keep youposted
thankyou for your suggestions
caz xx

hi Just to let you know that I suffered from pains in my arms and breathlessness while walking on slopes or flat ground and was sent for heart tests to be done, they all came back negative, turns out it was osteo arthritis in my neck that was causing the symptoms, hope you feel better soon Eileen x
